Arachas, the country’s largest nationwide insurance broker, today announced its agreement to acquire John Brady Insurances Limited (“JBIL”) for an undisclosed sum. Based in Loughduff, Cavan, the purchase of John Brady Insurances is in line with Arachas’ strategic plans to bolster its presence in the Border and Midlands region as part of its national growth plan.
This is an important strategic investment for Arachas in the region and comes on the back of several acquisitions around the country last year, including McDonald Dwyer Reddy & Byrne Insurances Limited in Waterford, Gerry O’Mahony Insurance in Limerick and Gilmartin Insurance in neighbouring Leitrim. John Brady Insurances represents an opportunity to acquire a business that is highly complementary to the Arachas business, and it strengthens further the Arachas footprint in the locality.
Founded in 1955, John Brady Insurances Limited is a family-owned brokerage, primarily serving the local market and the surrounding area. The company is run by Ciaran Brady, who is supported by a wider team, with both personal lines and commercial line products. It specialises in commercial insurance products for SME’s and the agricultural sector including farm insurance, property insurance, vehicle insurance, home insurance and liability insurance.
Post-acquisition, Ciaran Brady and all staff will transition into the Arachas business, expanding the Arachas footprint in the region, while continuing to provide their customers with the excellent service they are accustomed to.
